(SportsNetwork.com) - The struggling Toronto Maple Leafs need wins to get their postseason quest back on track, but they might settle for scoring a goal when they visit the San Jose Sharks in Thursdays clash at SAP Center. The Maple Leafs are mired in a 1-5-0 slump and the club has been shut out in the first two tests of a four-game road trip. Toronto lost 2-0 in Los Angeles on Monday before dropping Wednesdays tilt in Anaheim by a 4-0 count. Torontos last goal came on an empty-net tally with 1:13 left in Fridays 5-2 home win over Columbus, but the Leafs enter Thursday with a road scoring drought of 157 minutes, 41 seconds. The Maple Leafs have just one win in four games since Peter Horachek was named interim head coach to replace the fired Randy Carlyle. Toronto was in playoff position at the time of Carlyles dismissal, but the club is currently five points out of a postseason berth in the East. Toronto fired 28 shots at Frederik Andersen on Wednesday, but the Ducks netminder stopped them all to silence the Leafs offense. Corey Perry, meanwhile, recorded a hat trick for Anaheim. Jonathan Bernier allowed three goals on 24 shots for the Maple Leafs, who are 3-10-0 over their last 13 games. Were pretty happy with our process, Leafs forward James van Riemsdyk said. We just have to capitalize on our chances. Toronto was blanked in back-to-back games for the first time since March 10-11, 2012 against the Flyers and Capitals. The Leafs are just 7-10-3 on the road this season. They will complete this swing Saturday in St. Louis. The Sharks will try to win for the fourth time in six games tonight after halting a two-game slide with Tuesdays triumph in the desert. Brenden Dillons first goal of the season came in the third period and gave San Jose a 3-2 road win over the Arizona Coyotes. With the score tied in the third, the Sharks went ahead as Dillon snapped a shot on net from the left point that hit off the left skate of Zbynek Michalek and made its way past Devan Dubnyk. It was a pretty evenly played game tonight, said San Jose head coach Todd McLellan. Usually with games like this its the team that gets the break that wins the game and thats what happened tonight. Joe Pavelski and Tomas Hertl each had a goal for the Sharks, while Antti Niemi stopped 27 shots in the win. The two points allowed San Jose to leap past the Los Angeles Kings for second place in the Pacific Division. The Kings had a chance to regain the spot on Wednesday, but L.A. lost a home test to New Jersey. San Jose is hoping to pad its playoff credentials on home ice over the next few weeks. The Sharks, who are 10-7-2 as the host this season, begin a seven- game homestand tonight. The extended residency will feature a meeting with Los Angeles on Jan. 21. Niemi is expected to start tonight for the Sharks. He boasts a 3-1-0 record and 2.01 goals against average in four career games against Toronto. James Reimer is likely to start for the Leafs. He is 1-3-0 with a 3.27 goals against average in his career versus the Sharks. San Jose has won three straight and seven of the last eight meetings against the Maple Leafs. Toronto is just 1-4-0 with two ties over its last seven trips to the Shark Tank. PETERSBURG, Fla.GLENDALE, Ariz. - J.J. brought some Wattage to the Pro Bowl with an array of athleticism and hip-shaking shimmying.Even in a game his team didnt win, J.J. Watt found a way to steal the show — just like he had all season.Capping an electrifying season, Watt intercepted a pass, recovered a fumble and showed off his dance moves to a sellout crowd at the Pro Bowl Sunday night.I just tried to enjoy it; thats what the Pro Bowl is all about, giving the fans a good show, Watt said. Everybody worked so hard to get here, you want to enjoy yourself and play some good ball.OK, maybe the good ball was a stretch. As is the case with most Pro Bowls, the game wasnt exactly scintillating, filled with shoddy tackling and less-than-full effort from the players.Team Irvin won it over Watts Team Carter team 32-28.The 6-foot-5, 289-pound defensive end showed off his athleticism with an interception in the second quarter, leaping to swat down Matthew Staffords pass, then gathering the deflection. He recovered a fumble in the third quarter, swatted down another pass and defended four passes in the defensively-lacking game.Watt also put his dance moves on display during a third-quarter timeout, raising his arms in the air and shaking his hips, drawing big cheers from the crowd when it was shown on the video board. He shimmied again during timeout in the fourth quarter, this time drawing Team Carter teammate Marcell Dareus into the mix.Watt was named the defensive player of the game — his cheers were much louder than for Stafford, the offensive MVP — and closed out the night by posing for a seelfie with Team Carter defensive end Robert Quinn.ddddddddddddGuys are dancing around and having a good time, thats what its all about, Watt said. Now his attention turns toward Saturdays NFL Awards show.Watt is one of the favourites to win the NFLs MVP award, though faces long odds, at least historically. The MVP award has been an almost exclusively-offensive club through the years, handed out to defensive players twice in NFL history: Minnesota Vikings defensive tackle Alan Page in 1971 and New York Giants linebacker Lawrence Taylor in 1986.The award usually goes to a player from a winning team; the last MVP from a non-playoff team that was Buffalo Bills running back O.J. Simpson in 1973.Whatever happens, Watt proved his worth this season after becoming the highest-paid defensive player in NFL history with a six-year, $100 million contract.Watt was the NFL defensive player of the year in 2012 and may have had a better season in 2014, becoming the first player in NFL history to have two 20-sack seasons by tying a career with 20.5. He led the league with five fumble recoveries, was tied for second with four forced fumbles and his sack total was tied for second.Watt also scored five touchdowns: three on offence and one each on a fumble and interception returns.Numbers like those ratcheted up the MVP talk, but Watt deflected it, just as he has all seasonIm sure itll be a fun show, Watt said of the awards shot. My family will be out, so it will be cool.It always seems to be with Watt around.___AP NFL website: www.pro32.ap.org and http://twitter.com/AP_NFLWholesale MLB Orioles JerseysRed Sox Jerseys From ChinaDiscount Yankees Jerseys OnlineRays Jerseys For SaleBlue Jays Jerseys From ChinaWholesale MLB White Sox JerseysIndians Jerseys For SaleTigers Jerseys From ChinaWholesale MLB Astros JerseysCheap Baseball Angels JerseysAthletics Jerseys From ChinaMariners Jerseys For SaleCheap Baseball Rangers JerseysBraves Jerseys For SaleDiscount Marlins Jerseys OnlineDiscount Mets Jerseys OnlinePhillies Jerseys From ChinaWholesale MLB Nationals JerseysCubs Jerseys From ChinaDiscount Reds Jerseys OnlineBrewers Jerseys From ChinaWholesale MLB Pirates JerseysWholesale MLB Cardinals JerseysDiamondbacks Jerseys For SaleRockies Jerseys For SaleDiscount Dodgers Jerseys OnlineDiscount Padres Jerseys OnlineGiants Jerseys For Sale ' ' '
